In Florida, Spring is pretty subtle. Generally, it’s the day you switch from heat to air-conditioning. Here in North Carolina, Spring is in your face and it’s different at different elevations. I’ve been watching Mt. Bob green up for the last two weeks from the bottom to the top. The jonquils here at 2,200 are long gone but at 3,500 they’re still in full bloom. Driving along the Parkway, there are places where the trees are still just sticks and other, lower places, where the foliage is so thick you can only see a few feet into the woods.
