My New Computer

A couple of months ago I set up my laptop with dual-boot so I could use Ubuntu. It’s so fast and tiny that I thought it might work on an ancient laptop I had kicking around doing nothing. But then I read about Lubuntu. It’s supposed to be even tinier and faster than Ubuntu and it was created specifically for low-end hardware. So I decided to check it out. I installed it on an 8-GiB flash drive and found an option for persistence, meaning that you can allocate space on the flash drive for all your settings, documents and additional installed software packages. Since it’s bootable, it can be used to boot any PC that will boot from a USB drive, and I basically have a computer I can carry around in my pocket.
