My scrappy cat came home a couple of months ago with a very badly torn and bloody ear. It’s healed now, but you can see the split in this photo:

Well. Whatever cat did the damage to the ear is braver than I am. That’s not a playful look. Hope the ear’s doing well, though.

It healed in less than a week – I slathered it with my magic comfrey/chamomile/beeswax salve. It’s got a permanent split, though – it looks kind of like her ear has a thumb.

Why, thank you! My daughter took both photos (I need to add a caption to credit her). Every time I try photograph the damn cat, I get too much shine on that black fur and it looks awful, but Claire seems to instinctively get her in the right light.
